Case Study Overview

Objective

The objective of this scheme is to provide new drop-off areas and enhance pedestrian access to the front and rear of the building. In addition, improvements are proposed to enhance the public realm with the provision of new high quality paving, lighting  and street furniture.

  • Bound paving construction involving proprietary jointing and bedding materials
  • Installation of kerbs, channels and edgings
  • Drainage works including gulley removal and replacement

  • Street lighting works, column relocations and architectural lighting
  • Reinforced concrete foundations
  • Street furniture including benches and planters
  • Construction of new tree pits for street trees

Key Collaborative Aspects

Collaboration with Amey, BCA Landscape, Smiling Wolf, Hardscape and Liverpool City Council to deliver a key public realm  scheme outside the councils grade II listed officers and on a key route into Liverpool city centre. The project had a key completion date as the Queen Elizabeth and her Captain was sailing into Liverpool for the opening. Inger Klien Olsen (First female captain of the Cunnard) and the Lord Mayor proudly opened the voyage in July 2016.
